Iran is taking part as a special guest at the 523 Culture Art Festival at the 523 Cultural Industry Park in Hai’an in the east-central Chinese province of Jiangsu, presenting precious Persian handicrafts.

The Iranian handicrafts being showcased in China include minakari (vitreous enamel), khatamkari (Persian technique of marquetry), toreutics, handwoven carpets, kilim (a flat tapestry-woven carpet or rug) and termeh (a luxurious handmade Persian cloth), according to IRNA.

A video message of the Iranian Ambassador to China Mohammad Keshavarz-Zadeh was broadcast at the opening ceremony of the festival on Tuesday.

According to the Hai’an website, the 523 Culture Art Festival is expected to help domestic and foreign merchants, artists, and cultural and creative workers form cooperative relationships. It is also expected to provide a platform for cultural enterprises to hold art exhibitions, trade products, and exchange information.
