The meeting was attended by the ECI Director Sarvar Bakhti and the Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Arts Mojtaba Hosseini, Mehr News Agency reported.
The ECI is an ECO (Economic Cooperation Organization) affiliate and aims to help preserve its member’s – Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan – rich cultural heritage through implementing joint projects in the fields of the media, literature, art, philosophy, sport and education, according to en.ecieco.org.
During the meeting both sides highlighted the common cultural elements of ECO member countries, especially with regard to the Persian language and literature.
Stressing Iran’s artistic capacities for expanding cooperation with the institute and its other members, Hosseini voiced the country’s readiness to hold joint art events in various fields.
Bakhti also welcomed the opportunity of holding joint art events, especially in the fields of music and theater.
He expressed hope that signing an MoU could help expand cultural cooperation between the ECI and Iran.
