Zarif made the announcement in a post on his Instagram on Sunday, IRNA reported.
He is to talk about major issues which have become a source of concern for the world politicians, scholars and ordinary people. The program will be broadcast through the Instagram account of Tehran University’s Faculty of World Studies, he added in his post.
The first episode of the online lecture, called ‘The World in Transition,’ will be held in English at 13.30-14.15 GMT on Monday (17:00 to 17:45 local time).
Zarif said one of the questions that have crossed the mind of politicians, the intellectuals and people of all over the world is that where is the world heading to?
He argued, approximately, 30 years ago the bipolar regime, which reigned in the world for several decades, crumbled and the transition period kicked off. Intense efforts to shape the new world order still continue and have become more intense with the outbreak of the coronavirus.
Zarif added that the Faculty of World Studies of Tehran University has provided the opportunity to use the platform as an opening point to start a dialogue aiming at reaching mutual understanding by exchange of views in several sessions.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, the best chances and tools to promote national interest and safeguard regional and international peace and stability needed to be identified through a realistic assessment of present global developments including major issues such as the globalization of threats and opportunities ranging from terrorism to the coronavirus pandemic; diversification of power sources; individuals role playing in the international arena; relative reduction of the power of traditional political actors on one hand and the relative increase of power of the newly emerged actors on the other; as well as the end of the hegemony and changing of the geography of power.
