Jalali and Syromolotov held a meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, the Iranian envoy said in a post on the twitter account of the Iranian Embassy, according to Tasnim News Agency.
“In the friendly meeting, the cooperation between Iran and Russia in the fight against extremism and terrorism was discussed,” Jalali added.
The ambassador noted that Tehran-Moscow ties are based on consultations regarding various regional and international issues, particularly the battle against terrorism, extremism and unilateralism.
Iran believes that the only way to achieve peace and stability in the region and the world is to respect the international law and work in cooperation against terrorism threats, he added.
Iran and Russia have recently increased their cooperation in many areas including on fight against terrorism.
Both countries rushed to help Syria after parts of the Arab country were occupied by foreign-backed terrorist groups.
