Kamalvandi: Construction of two new power plants to begin

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Tuesday that construction of two new power plants early next year.

Speaking to IRNA, Kamalvandi referred to signing of a contract between Iran and Russia recently for construction of two power plants in Bushehr, and said the project is currently at the executive stage and the power plants have not yet been built.
He said the executive stage features designing works and technical side of the job.
Noting that the Iranian party undertook major part of the preliminary works for the project, Kamalvandi said once the executive phase is over, tender will be run for the parts to be entrusted to the Iranian partner.
'Our predictions are that once the executive and initial works are done, construction works of two power plants will start early next year.'
Commenting on the two remaining issues of the third phase of Iran-IAEA cooperation, which began since May, Kamalvandi said, 'They were to verify the claims that there were blasts in Marivan; we have announced readiness and said are fully prepared. They should provide us with the geographical specifications so that we will provide them with management access.'
He said that the IAEA has not provided Iran with any response and the reason is that we had said since the beginning that the information are forgery and the IAEA should verify them.
