The newest mural of Vali-Asr Square, in central Tehran, was unveiled on the occasion of Eid Ghadir Khumm.

This mural was designed, implemented and installed by the House of Designers of the Islamic Revolution.

Pouya Sarabi composed the poetry, while Mojtaba Hassanzadeh wrote it on the mural.

Eid Ghadir Khumm is the day when Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) assigned Hazrat Ali (PBUH) as the first Imam of Shia Muslims.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) announced his appointment on his return from his last Hajj pilgrimage 14 centuries ago.

Eid Ghadir Khumm comes eight days after another great festivity, called Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice – an important festival on the Islamic calendar that marks the climax of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca and Medina.
